About the kalakaar

Tejal is an emerging artist based in Gold Coast, Australia.

Currently, she is experimenting with her colour palette and concepts at the Level Up Youth Incubator Residency 2024.

As a creative, she finds herself drawn towards painting semi-abstract landscapes, still life, and stories that are at the heart of hinudism. Her favourite elements of her pieces are the incorporation of solid shapes, how she does not shy away from bold colours, and most importantly – the composition which curates a story in the painting itself.

Outside of painting, Tejal is pursuing a Bachelor of Laws and is a writer.

A possibility she finds herself intrigued to explore is curation and art critique, having extensive experience with graphic design, magazine editorials, and critical text analysis – Tejal is open to translating her skills into an academic context within the Arts.

Many of her current and future artworks aim to combine her love for poetry and fiction with her strong drive for justice and peace, to deliver a compelling and mesmerising story on her canvas.
